Anthony “Tony” Sterud will always be remembered as a beloved father, son, and friend. Tony struggled with addiction for many years, but his dedication to his children and his desire to lead a sober life kept him fighting until the end.
Tony grew up in Brandon and Sioux Falls. Despite the challenges he faced with addiction, Tony was a warm and generous person who always made time for his loved ones. His children, Lucas, Haleigh, and Cora, were the center of his world, and he worked tirelessly to provide them with the love and support they needed to thrive.
In the last year and a half of his life, Tony made the brave decision to get sober and checked himself into a sober house in Minneapolis, MN. He worked hard to maintain his sobriety and reconnect with his children as a sober dad. Though his battle with addiction was a difficult one, Tony never gave up hope and remained committed to his sobriety until his last day.
On December 21, 2022, Tony lost his battle with addiction in his sober house in Minneapolis. He was only 37 years old. The news of his passing has been devastating for his family and friends, who will always remember Tony’s infectious laugh, kind heart, and unwavering love for his children.
Although Tony’s life was cut tragically short, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered as a devoted father, a loyal friend, and a shining example of courage and determination in the face of adversity.
