Joshua Jay Langley, born on December 10, 1989, in Yankton, South Dakota, embarked on a life that took him on a tumultuous journey. As a child, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and brought joy to those around him. However, as he entered his teenage years, he encountered the destructive grip of the drug world, and his life took a turn for the worse. Despite the challenges he faced, Josh’s love for his family, especially his daughter, remained unwavering.

Growing up in Tyndall, SD, Josh attended Bon Homme schools and eventually obtained his GED. He delved into the construction and concrete industry for a while before finding work as a cook in several restaurants in Sioux Falls, SD. In his spare time, he found solace in fishing, cooking, and listening to music, embracing the simple pleasures that gave him temporary respite from his struggles.

Joshua’s life was marked by a relentless battle against the grip of addiction. He found himself trapped in a cycle of incarceration, in and out of prison for several years. Despite the hardships he faced, he cherished his daughter, Jordyn, with all his heart. His love for her was a shining light in his darkest moments, a testament to the strength of his spirit and his capacity for love.

On October 27, 2018, Joshua Jay Langley tragically lost his life to an overdose in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was just 28 years old, leaving behind a devastated family who mourned the loss of a son, a brother, and a father.
