Kaitlyn “Katie” Ann Northuis was a creative spirit. She expressed herself through drawing, painting, and other artistic endeavors. She was active in gymnastics and diving, creating many cherished memories and friendships.
A social butterfly, she loved spending time with friends and family. Her favorite moments included playing hide and seek with her beloved dog, Ozzy, and sneaking him treats. Katie could light up a room with her smile and goofy personality. She was a loyal sister who loved spending time with her big sis and an incredibly loving daughter.
Katie tragically died from fentanyl poisoning alone in her room on June 17, 2023—just a few weeks after her 18th birthday and high school graduation. She had asked a “friend” for a Percocet but was given a pill containing only fentanyl and filler.
Katie struggled with her mental health, using marijuana as a coping mechanism. Though she experimented with other substances, we believe this was her first time trying pills.
Katie was an incredibly loving soul who brought energy, joy, and laughter into every room she entered. Her love and light will be missed forever.
